Cable DSL – now competing against DSL

The Web-access via cable providers is very popular and fast: Now there are connections in many cities at speeds over 50 Mbit / s and there is no end in sight. But what is it that makes the cable DSL access providers so popular? Simple: price and performance. Explore the current cable Internet rates here: Kabel Internet

When comparing cable internet offerings with current internet connections you will see that cable internet providers often offer faster lines. The reason is simple. For the cable-access web providers use the cable tv technique to establish the Internet connection. This is possible because the cable television signals can now be transmitted data in both directions.

In contrast to traditional Internet, the distance to the distributor plays a minor role, since the cable access will be realized with digital data networks. The use of old cables is not necessary. There is no dependence of the provider of the “last mile”. With traditional DSL Internet connections, the ISPs are always working together with another provider who has the last cable from the distributor moved into the house. It’s no secret that the traditional DSL companies because of different business interests often do not work together perfectly. We can hear of failed appointments for the activation and similar problems, many Internet Users know these problems.

These problems are not there for the cable web access providers. Because these providers also have access to the “last mile” they do not need to negotiate with a third party. In addition to this technical advantage, this is also a very tough economical one. The DSL providers have to pay a monthly fee to the owner of the last mile (about 10 € per month), the cable Internet providers don´t.

It will certainly be observed also in the future, that the Cable Internet providers will offer much competition to the DSL access providers. The Internet users can look forward to.
